How I get my best work done: πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’»

I love to start with a plan and write out a series of steps, so that as a team we are all on the same page and can easily jump into work. I think by following scrum and the kanban boards on Github we will have no problem with this!
Sometimes while working I can get distracted by my own ideas, and I often feel best if I can quickly try them or read them on my own computer in front of me before trying to direct someone else through the process. Often I just need to see it, even if it doesn't work!
I also work best when I am focusing on my work instead of emails/messaging platforms. I can be a bit slow to reply sometimes, but I promise that I am working on it, and trying to schedule in specific times for responding so that we can all be on the same page!

The role I usually take in a team: πŸ™Œ

In the past I have often taken a more back seat role, but within web development projects I tend more towards a leadership role. I think in these projects in particular, collaboration is extremely important, so I want to find the balance between pushing the project forward and making sure that everyone has space and feels equally invested.

My communication style: πŸ—£

I try to be as open and honest as possible, while always keeping positive. It can be hard for me sometimes as I tend to try and avoid confrontation but it is something that I am working on, because I have a huge amount of respect for people who are direct, honest, and respectful.
I try hard to recognize when to speak up and when to step back and give people space, so if you ever feel that is not the case, please let me know.
In teams and groups like this I tend towards being bubbly and enthusiastic in order to try and keep energy up. A sense of lightness and fun is very important for me for being productive and happy at work!

What I value: πŸ€‘

Mostly: πŸŽ‰ HAVING FUN AND BEING SILLY WHILE STILL WORKING EFFICIENTLY TOGETHER πŸŽ‰
Also: Honesty and openness instead of fearing confrontation. While bringing up issues or difficulties can be hard, bringing them up before they become a problem is the best way to deal with them quickly and keep everyone happy, so I really appreciate it.

What people misunderstand about me: πŸ€”

I am always super outgoing and confident! Believe it or not I used to be quite shy, even though I haven't felt that way so much in FAC. I second guess myself a lot, and I often get quite worried about being forcing my own ideas on others in a group (since sometimes I really just need to try it once).
As said above, I can be slow with my replies on email/messaging platforms, and I worry that can come across as not being invested. It is something that I am working on however, I'm just trying to find the right processes to be responsive but also productive!

How I like to get my feedback: πŸ‘πŸ‘Ž

Direct, but also positive. I am really open to any and all feedback, since I can only change something if I know there is an issue. I do my best to avoid being defensive and instead take everything on board. I'm always happy to chat!

Tech Stack:

Preferred tech: React, Node (definitely with Express!),
Weaknesses: Testing (although this is something that I really want to work on)
Strengths: Node (Express)
Want to work on/learn: Redux, SASS, better Testing!

I'm just happy and excited to be here with y'all!

excited pupper
