What we're after:
We need to look at the analytics for these two experiments again. This review is after our first which resulted in the modification of the details panel test and an extension of the data landing page test.
Results were inconclusive at the time of the first review. The data wasn't showing anything significant that would suggest one direction over another so we continued with the experiment for another month to see if anything changed.
Next steps:
Following this second review, if we don't see significant data points that point to a solution, we will stop the experiment and run it again closer to the election.
After a followup review of the details panel work, we plan to move forward with the blue plus icons for our datatables. This will solve a few problems:
gray icons looks inactive or disabled
arrow icons suggested users would be taken somewhere else
we plan to change the interaction for details panels to open below the row instead of to the right, so the plus/minus sign will help to reinforce that change and better reflect what happens with the opening of the details panel
Data analytics suggests the blue plus sign has the best results when we conducted the A/B/C test.
After a followup review of the data landing page, we plan to make some additional design adjustments to test again with a new arrangement of some of the data sections there.
Data analytics suggest that there is an improvement in clicks to the election search page with that section at the top of the page. TBD on what those design changes will look like. Will open up followup tickets to create these new designs and create a new A/B test for the landing page.
