The current implementation of the two-factor authentication (2FA) feature does not properly support Italian phone numbers. Users are experiencing issues when attempting to register or authenticate using Italian numbers, resulting in failed 2FA attempts or the inability to complete the process.

Steps to Reproduce

• Attempt to register an Italian phone number (+39).
• Follow the 2FA registration process as instructed.
• The error occurs either during the validation or the SMS is not received.

Expected Behavior

• Italian phone numbers (with the country code +39) should be correctly recognized and processed for 2FA.
• Users should receive the 2FA code via SMS and successfully complete the 2FA setup or login process.

Actual Behavior

• Italian phone numbers are either not accepted during registration, or users never receive the SMS code, causing the 2FA process to fail.
