Currently i'm using devilspie to change the window type to desktop, as it allows the widget to stay visible even if you toggle the desktop view (ToggleShowDesktop in openbox).
It would be really helpful to have this. I'm not familiar with this codebase (or rust in general) but from what i've seen it should be easy to implement. I might create a pull request when i have some time.
