Expanded formatter capability

It seems that the custom formatters are primarily for simple "re-shaping" of binary and text payloads. It would be cool to be able to have code-based formatters with an optional UI component for scenarios where the payload is more "visual" (e.g. a camera image, audio or vibration waveform, etc).
