How to have DuckDuckGo as default search engine on Opera?

Summary

I followed the whole procedure to make DuckDuckGo the default search engine on Opera, but every time I open a browser page, the darn Google appears by default.
What should I do?

Motivation

I also downloaded the Opera extension for DuckDuckGo, but there is nothing to do.
I hate having to use proprietary systems.

Additional context

Priority: It is not urgent, but it would be helpful.
Impact: I guess that it would be nice for all the not so smart users like me to have clear and effective information to avoid using stuff like Google.
