Discussed with @felixtran39 ; Felix apparently has no other task at the moment and wants to try it; I will take it back over if there is more urgent task for Felix.

Leaving this here in the general category of "other representations for memory":

I'm thinking that for the accumulator and storage register, giving the decimal or octal code for the value also might be useful. (hexadecimal wasn't used nearly as much as octal at the time).
