The order of favorites (groups) / routes / tracks in their lists now also defines their z-order on the map.

Items higher in the lists will render on the map above items lower in the lists.

Routing with different section profiles works very nice (from what I can test from the office without being on the bike/on the road)!

But what I couldn't find: how do I save a planned route to "My collection" now?
When long-pressing the route, all I am offered is "Add favorite"; no possibility to "Add favorite route".

What am I doing wrong?

If I had a route that I wanted putting into Favorites, a long-press and "save" tile would be my preference - along with a "really overwrite?" confirmation if I enter a name that already exists. Perhaps even a "Route Actions" tile where Import/Save/Delete etc could be found? Tricky without having either too many visible tiles or burying your most-used action 3-levels deep 😕

Anything's better than having to re-create the knife scene in Aliens 🤣

On one hand this sounds like a nice approach to me...

On the other hand, what is NOT a "route action" in the long-press route menu?
"Reverse route" - a route action.
"Share" - a route action.
"Place waypoints on street" - a route action.

So it might be difficult to decide what to group here...

Another idea (just brainstorming): a "My collection" tile in the route menu, where these add/delete/overwrite options are offered?

Once again, thank you very much for making it possible to edit all profiles. In my opinion, default ones were not restrictive enough for main roads (except the fastest profile, of course). Now I have a lot of tests ahead of me... which I love doing 😀

The only note related to these tests is that when I long press the section and select the "Option" menu, the default route options appear (Route profile). In case we changed the section profile it is confusing. It seems to me that we should have here - if possible - profile options related to the selected section.

What is missing in the app? All important options should already be available.
Not normal values mean a profile that needs improvements, solution is not using excessive values.

If the profile needs adjustments (like we did recently in town and forest rules), we can make them.
If the factor of each level (mentioned here) needs changes, we can also adjust them better.

We should not forget the most important thing, even if we revert to the previous situation,
where loading an external profile overrides the app options, then we cannot use different section profiles.
Then the external profile will be used in the whole route in all sections, regardless of curvy, extra curvy, etc.

If you are ok with this, we can revert the previous workflow.

Also we should remember that the app should be simple for most users,
while offering advanced settings for experienced users (not just the 2nd). 🙂

We had this at the beginning but most users did not like or understand it, because BRouter scales are not linear.
So it is better to have levels with a fixed factor per level.

Now we use the same factors in all profiles: fastest, curvy, extra curvy, etc.
We could use different factors, so level 3 in curvy is different than level 3 in extra curvy.

I wait suggestions by all of you!
Our purpose should be to improve the internal profile so all can benefit. 🙂

When I longpress on the route I don't find it any more and if I use the "overwrite a saved route" with the planned route in the context menu of the 3 dots, then the name of the saved route disappears and when I try to rename the now nameless route, cruiser crashed completely.

yes, because I didn't find the save route button any more I have opened the my collection --> routes and searched for my previously loaded route which I wanted to change, selected the 3 dots and have used "overwrite with the planned route". Directly after this the name of this route was blank (it didn't rember the name in a variable I guess). And when I then wanted to rename it, it crashed, but the renaming still happened.

It works nicely, but I'd like to suggest one small change: when saving a route via the "Save route" tile, would it be possible to always open the "My collection" window in the "route folders view" (screenshot 1)?

Currently, when long-pressing a route and select the "Save route" tile, the view of "My collection" opens with the last active view when "My collection" was saved, which could also be the "route list view" (screenshot 2).

When this is the case, one has to select the route folders view first, select then the "three dots" menu of the route group where the route should be saved and only then one can enter a name for the route to be saved.

When the route folders view is always opened from the beginning, this would be an easier and more untuitive workflow...

Sorry i also don't see a benefit. It is not as before. Before the name of the last loaded route was shown and saving has overwritten it with the planned version. And when the name was changed, a new route was added to the collection. This was intuitive and handy. Now I have to search for the right route first and then again use the three dots and override the route? This is far too complicated.

For some time now I have been storing Cruiser data on an external memory card (I do not recommend it! I only do it on a test device!). I agree that 1:1 synchronization of the profile folder with another device is not a good idea. You may end up having to reset the broken profile to its default settings 🙂

According to what you say, there are definitely no problems with synchronizing "My Collection" folders. It's super convenient.

So the external BRouter profiles can be loaded and used as they are designed by their authors.

Note: the new different route profiles per route section work with the internal Cruiser driving profile.

BRouter reroute profile does not seem to have any restrictions per travel mode (driving, cycling, walking).
It can lead to wrong routing. In route planning we better use the default restrictions of each travel mode.

Also for mountain bikes we use the BRouter trekking profile which offers many options.

This then equals the (also non existent) setting to show "0" POI.

This nomenclature is consistent with the Polish Wiki Openstreetmap manual 🙂

I'd like to suggest one more change regarding menu tiles for the next final release...

Without any loaded route, the long-press on map menu currently looks like shown in screenshot 1.

When starting to plan a ride from scratch, one can easily start designing a route with the existing buttons.
But when I want to load/import a predesigned route, I have to go via Main > Routing > Import.

This could be simplified from my POV by providing the "Import" tile also when long-pressing the map!

To maintain symmetry - and to allow to check from the same menu whether the routing data for the route to be loaded is up-to-date/available - the long-press on map menu w/o loaded route could be extended like shown in the mockup screenshot 2.

What do you think @devemux86?

In b16 (and b15), if you open the Waypoints list and "swipe left" on a ViaPoint after performing a previous edit, it will not remove it from the Route. It seems to ignore an edit of more than 1 item.

eg: If I have 2 ViaPoints in a row, I toggle the 1st one to a ShapingPoint and then the swipe-away the 2nd, nothing happens to the route except the type change. However, if I perform just the swipe action, it works.

@devemux86 Odd, I can still replicate it in b17. You have to have changed the item above immediately prior to the swipe. The swipe takes away the item but when exiting back to the map it does nothing to the Route. Just the swipe gesture (on its own) on the Waypoints list works as expected.

I can also toggle an item from a ViaPoint to a ShapingPoint and swipe the following 2 ViaPoint entries and they remain on the Route and still present when opening the Waypoints list again.

Here's a sample from Gretna, Scotland: I toggle ViaPoint-2 (B7211) into a ShapingPoint

Immediately after, I left-swipe "Food, CoOp Gretna" and save the list - but nothing happens to the Route and the right-hand list is what I see:

I just did an experiment: after another clean installation, the BRouter data download started! After changing the folder to "/media/" it didn't. Once again, I apologize for the confusion 🙄

I downloaded the maps a moment earlier, and the rest a moment later too. Initially, I assumed there was a problem with the BRouter server (or communication with him), but the updates on other device downloaded normally. Unless there are several servers.

Worse, because the application lost stability on the phone again! Perhaps it wasn't the profiles that were at fault, but the thousands of Favorites downloaded from Overpass-turbo. But the same collection does not cause problems on other, even weaker, two devices... I need to check this out more!

It shows the crosshair for precise location selection anyway, so it can be used anywhere.

Do we need changes in the distances?
e.g. 100m may be not useful

I agree - maybe replace the 100m option by a 1km option!?

I don't know if more than 5km are useful...

In the past I also thought of a distance slider with adjustable distance,
but a slider probably would not be much usable in active navigation?

For me it's sufficient. The 100m is okay if just a bridge or a railroad crossing is closed.
In my opinion all distances can remain as they are and it doesn't make sense to go any further, because: when I'm faced with a barrier I don't know how long it is anyway. I always tend to take 5 km, just to be on the safe side.

I agree with @WolfgangZ42 that the distances that are now are fine. I remember a discussion about this. In fact, you either see a fallen tree and choose "100 m" (yes, a closed railway crossing is a good example), or you see a traffic jam and choose "5 km" because you can't see its end.
