Remove pyrabbit

We use kombu in one of our project and discovered that it use pyrabbit as dependency, a package not upgraded since 9 year.
Is it planned to remove this dependency or to fork it ?

It appears there’s already this fork for the same reasons: https://github.com/deslum/pyrabbit2
But is there any problem you’re actually facing or it’s just the worry of using an unmaintained dep?
