Alternative to gitbook for PDF generation?

Have been trying to get a PDF outputted so can print these docs and having a really tough time here.

Seems Gitbook (the open source version) was deprecated awhile ago. GitbookIO/gitbook#2219 (comment)

I attempted to use Gitbook.com to generate a PDF, which turned out to require subscribing to a 14 day business plan trial, which I am not particularly interested in doing.

Is there a recommended alternative for generating a PDF from this repository? Preferably something free and open source. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, wow, the README is wildly out of date. We haven't used gitbook in years (due to the issues you stated).

The repo uses vuepress now. Apparently there is a PDF export plugin for it (https://github.com/SnowdogApps/vuepress-plugin-pdf-export), I'll look at it and see if it's possible to integrate.
