Is there any way to turn off the 3d layer? I need to see trees and it makes them all wonky. Thanks!

Not really sure what you mean by '3D'. Do you mean that when you zoom in on satalite imagry in some locations it changes tilted or oblique 45degre imagery?

You can toggle to top down imagryin with tilt button above the zoom buttons bottom right

Thanks so much for responding! I'm attaching an image to help explain. On the image, on the left is a "birds eye" view from bing. Note the clump of trees with the arrow. On the right is the same area from your map, and you can see the weird 3d overlay it puts on the trees. On google maps, in the hamburger menu, when you have the satellite view up, there's a check box option for 3d on/off that gets rid of it. I use your map because of the 45 degree angle I can't get from google maps anymore. Thanks! Allison

Hmm, hopefully this will work.

The comparative trees should be fairly centered.

Odd. Looks to be baked into the 45d imagry itself. Seems to only really on the North facing imagry, although slightly visible in the South facing.

Must be some sort of artifact of the stitching process. The raw aerial tiles still have to be stitched into a relatively seamless single image.

If turn off Tilt on gokml map, it defaults back to the top down imagry, the same affect as turning off 3D on Google Maps.

Alas dont know any way to get access to even more 'raw' version of the 45d imagry.

Oh well. If you're interested, head over to Google maps and zoom into some trees and toggle the 3d setting of and on in the settings menu on the top left, and you can see that it's there in the flat view too. I enjoy using your mail, thanks!
