AIP 90: Activate points migration

Summary

This AIP proposes to migrate the Activate points to the AirSwap staking interface

• Activate is deprecating its service on the 1st of October 2023.
• An AIP was been approved to develop the new staking interface (AIP 77)
• Points snapshot made by Activate to be applied on the AirSwap staking interface.

Specification

Ask Activate to make a point snapshot on a specific date :

Yes : Snapshot of the legacy points balance when Activate shutdown will be migrated to the new rewards system after the new voting snapshot.
No : Legacy points will not be migrated to the new rewards system - balances will be reset to 0

The points taken in the snapshot will be then distributed in the new staking interface ready to be used.

Rationale

AirSwap’s DAO launch was supported by the Codefi Activate platform to enable our community to participate in the new decentralized governance process and earn rewards for their time and attention.

On 1st August, AirSwap communicated via an announcement on x.com that points should be spent before the 1st of October 2023 (link). Later on the AirSwap contributors found out that a migration was possible, in the meantime DAO’s members may have claimed their points as a result of the tweet announcement. In order to give back the choice to members this AIP is being proposed.

Supporting information

On 18th August, the activate team provided a data snapshot that showed that 20 voters who had previously held points for >2 months had claimed rewards since the announcement on 1st August.
