Issue Description

Trackpad gestures are not working in Vanilla OS. Despite having 'Gesture Improvements' installed under the GNOME extension manager, the system prompts an error suggesting Touchegg is not installed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install 'Gesture Improvements' in GNOME.
  2. Observe functionality failure and error message prompting to install Touchegg.
  3. Run systemctl --user status touchegg.service to find no service.
  4. Install Touchegg via apx install --apt touchegg in the Ubuntu subsystem.
  5. Opt to export Touchegg binary to host.
  6. Log out and back in; Touché GUI still doesn't recognize Touchegg.
  7. Confirm /home/user/.local/bin is in PATH.
  8. Attempt reinstalling Touché and X11 Gestures extension.

On what version of Vanilla OS this happens?

22.10
