In order to use "rtm", you'll need a comparison tool. This tool needs
to take two solution and compare them and report whether they are the
same or different. It will need to take command line arguments. The
arguments can be in any order you wish. It will need to support at
least 3 or 4 arguments:
* the name of the file where the results go.
* Optionally the tolerance required for your test.
* The name of the solution file(s)/directory
* The name of the gold file(s)/directory
As an example, suppose your comparison tool is named "diffprog" which
takes several arguments:
$ diffprog results.csv 1.0e-6 gold_file test_file
The first argument is the name of csv file that is required to
tell rtm how your program did. The second argument is the norm test
value. The final two arguments are the gold file that has the known
good solution and test file.
The results.lua file looks something like this:
# Fri Feb 19 16:39:18 2015
passed, "Any comment"
The first line is a comment. The second line is the value. Your diff
program should generate something similar. It is important that you
have all the commas that are shown above. Obviously, the "passed"
line should be either "passed", "failed" or "diff" depending on how
your program did.
The rtm program supports three status values:
value program meaning Interpretation
----- --------------- --------------------------------------------
passed The test passes. passing
failed The test failed. program fails to produce an output
diff The test failed. program is "different"
You are free to limit yourself to passed/failed or use all three
values. It is your "diffprog" which choses how to describe the result
of the comparision test.
The file themis/rtm/doc/difftool.c provides an example of out you
might implement a comparison tool for your application.
