Without looking at the whole log file I have no idea why you can't build OCCT. But you can use my prebuilt binaries of the deps.
To use the deps, you will need to clone OrcaSlicer to this location. Then unzip the deps binaries to this location: D:\a\OrcaSlicer\OrcaSlicer\deps\build\OrcaSlicer_dep |

So I tried this out, so if I create a USB stick with a drive letter D, building works without any problems. But when I try to do it on C:, at some point it looks for a hard disk with a drive letter D:... Is it possible to change this to the drive letter C:? |

Yes, but that doesn't help me, because unfortunately I have 2 Windows systems installed on my system and I boot them via the boot manager when I boot up. Unfortunately, the other system already has a D drive, which I cannot redefine... Therefore, I actually need this without a D drive, so that it can only be set on the C or on another drive... |

I had some really random troubles compiling on arm64 MacOS. I'd get messages saying random libraries couldn't install, but it never seemed to be the same ones. At one point even, after having successfully built the dependencies dozens of times, they just randomly broke. What fixed it for me was:
Rebooting was important for me; I'd tried just removing the aforementioned directories, but that alone didn't work. I suspect that a partial dependency build left things hanging around in some way that caused trouble, and that these dangling pieces weren't freed up until the reboot. |

Can you not use the pre-compiled deps from https://github.com/SoftFever/FileSharing/releases/download/OrcaSlicer_deps_Mar/OrcaSlicer_dep_mac_arm64_11-03-2023.tar.gz? I used the pre-compiled deps for compiling on Windows and it went much faster than building them myself. Your error indicates you're missing aclocal. Have you installed automake with There's M1 builds at https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/actions/workflows/build_mac_arm64.yml if you only want nightly style builds. |

Hello, when I open this in Visual Studio 2019 and click Local Windows Debugger it says unable to create directory and also says the directory does not exist. It is trying to open it in the D folder and I did the subst thing and it worked so im not sure why visual studio is saying this? |

If your end goal is to contribute code to the repo then it's probably helpful to onboard you. But if you only want to compile macOS builds for personal use, then it's probably not helpful because the macOS Github Action is working for that purpose. The error says you are missing Threads. So presumably the solution would be to get Threads installed and working or try to find out why it can't find it. |

Hey guys, I was able to reproduce the issue in my new PC, and I think I've figured out the cause of OCCT issue here. The patch was not applied properly to OCCT hence it was installed to the wrong location. It should be fixed after this commit: b76be35 You can rebuild OCCT only by:

Thank you radek6ak for your post, it was very helpful as I was struggling to compile the current v2.1.1 release on a Rpi4 (please don't laugh everyone, I have my own reasons why I want to do this) running the latest raspios. Answering my own questions, in case it would help somebody else, too: I did eventually manage to finish the build on the 8GB RPi 4B - it took an additional 6.5 hours (!) from when I restarted it with But it failed the first time trying to build the appimage, complaining about missing fuse. fuse3 was installed (by default on raspios) at that point. After an Running the appimage just like I did But now comes something I haven't figured out yet: if I copy the appimage to the home directory of another account on the same RPi box and I try to run it under that account with the same Also, trying to run it again under the initial account, it now gives me the same choice about the SSL CA then it complains that and in ~/.config/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer.conf there is: If I delete everything under ~/.config/ it starts. If I use raspi-config to add the en_GB locale it also starts (but it's still annoying because nowhere was en_GB explicitly selected). Once the window shows up I can maximise it but I cannot move it. Once I maximise it I cannot reduce it size. |

Aaaaannd... I found out that, except for slicing the most basic 3d parts, the RPi 4B is essentially useless at running Orca Slicer :( Its "performance" is just awful for this task, to the point that you want to throw it out |

@agstartec you are at least using the old build directory and it finds some ancient dependencies like boost 1.66. Delete your C:/a/ folder and start over. And your log is missing the critical first half. The whole log is needed. @SwarleyAUS I cannot find the problem in your logs, sorry. I have seen this situation before and I suspect there is something wrong/racy in the orcaslicer build process. Your build is just silently ignoring the whole dep_wxWidgets step and it's not fetching it. If you are sure you used completely fresh directory (you still used the old path at least), something might be wrong with the build process. There has been some commit to the wxWidgets dependency ~5 days ago, you could try building some old stable version like 1.9.0 and see if that builds (again, you need fresh clone in a fresh directory) |

@SwarleyAUS If you want to look into it, for me it looks like it's not including this line at all: https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/blob/main/deps/CMakeLists.txt#L254 meaning this file https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/blob/main/deps/wxWidgets/wxWidgets.cmake and the patches are ignored. You could add some if-elses and debug messages to the cmakelists. I cannot reproduce this problem so hard to debug further. |

I've tried to build this on 3 machines now and all are getting the same error, so I don't see how this isn't a problem with the instructions. I've installed CMake, SPerl, GIT LFS, and the only workflow in VS2022 is Desktop C++. Is there anything else required? I like other keep getting the missing freeglut.lib and MSB1009 project error codes |

So heads up, not a big C++ guy. I was able to compile the build just fine, but it fails to rebuild in VS to use the debugger. The code base is pretty sparse for comments and was wondering if there is any official documentation. I am very interested in producing a couple new tools but don't want to spend too much time sorting through by hand. |

Visual Studio 2022 has been the default compiler for Orca for quite a while now. I personally haven't used Visual Studio 2019 in the past year. I'm thinking of removing Visual Studio 2019 from the readme if it's not working anymore. |

VS2019 still definitely works. I think what needs updating, is installation instructions of Visual Studio, i.e what compilers, SDKs and other tools you need to check in the installer. |

My problems are tainted by the aforementioned bad installs. I also didn't save any logs. In trouble shooting I also tried compiling related builds, Bambu Studio and Prusa Slicer, mainly to eliminate variables, like Strawberry Perl. Good to know VS 2022 is the default compiler, but the ReadMe explicitly asks for x64 Native Tools for VS 2019. Which was the one that failed, the most. As mentioned once I was building without errors, rebuilding from .sln in VS failed, which was weird. I am pretty sure this was related to my bad install at this point. There were linker erros, and other file not found errors related to cmake and VS. Again. at that point I don't think that problem had anything to do with OrcaSlicer. I would agree an explicit install instruction for VS is unnecessary, but documentation of required packages is not the same thing. Even if its not on the readme, it would have saved my some brute force torubleshooting time. I also never finished, systematically weeding packages. Maybe I'll do that when I have a chance to try again on my main system, and share it here. But for now I am out of time to poke around. |

MSB1009 is not the error you're interested in, it comes after any error because the build failed and could not create the project file. If you want to have truly fresh build, you need to delete 3 directories: As always, you need to post the complete build log if you need help. |

I’ve successfully compiled orca on macOS 15 without a hitch. The default script worked well. Suggest doing a clean wipe ( a UTM vm can help here to get you an “new” system without having to break your own) and starting again with the dependencies, then cloning the GitHub repository and running the Mac OS build script. It should work straight away. |

Just wanted to mention here that I couldn't get things to work on Windows with Visual Studio 2019. I got the wxwidget issue I see mentioned above, as well as a few other things when trying things. Also, Visual Studio 2019 Community is kind of a hassle to obtain, since Microsoft doesn't actually offer it freely anymore, and really tries to get you to use 2022. Here's what did work for me:

Some people have difficulties building Orca Slicer. This is the thread to discuss such issues.
On Windows:
build_release_vs2022.bat accepts two parameters: deps and slicer. It will build both deps and studio by default if no parameter is provided.
If you have issues compiling OrcaSlicer, please make sure that all dependencies are compiled successfully.
