Section of Documentation

Code of conduct

Description of Improvement

Add a code of conduct page, including who to contact e.g. like https://book.the-turing-way.org/community-handbook/coc

Benefits of Improvement

People on the project know who to contact if something bad happens

Additional Context

Whilst people's workplaces have policies for what to do in the event of bad behaviour etc, it can be useful to have a code of conduct for international/multi-institutional projects such as Seshat.

A more Seshat-specific consideration: this could include a process for handling people who are posting offensive comments or threatening language to the Seshat website or GitHub regarding a decision made relating to polity borders, or other information on polities

  • also, dealing with historical communities - Andre's work

Definition of Done

  • The documentation improvement has been developed on a branch.
  • The new branch has been tested in the Staging website.
  • A pull request has been created for the new branch to be merged into the main branch.
