What is the problem?

  • The definition of OuterWall.area is currently not 100 % clear and one might get confused as VDI 6007 states:

The dimensions of an exterior building component are determined from its gross dimensions [...]

  • As VDI 6007 uses no extra resistance for windows but TEASER does, we use net areas. This should be documented.

Why do we want to solve it?

  • Prevent confusion

How do we want to solve it?

  • Add some additional lines to OuterWall.area and Project.merge_windows_calc to explain this a bit better.
