Hi There.

Is this provider still under active development?
It looks like it has been 4 months, so was just wondering.
Is there a possibility that Globalprotect, DNS Proxy and DHCP Server is added to the provider?

Hi @dafjedavid, yes the terraform provider is very actively developed. We're currently working on ways to scale our Terraform provider development, as Palo Alto Networks now has many TF providers across several products. Last week we launched a Terraform landing page and have consolidated much of our documentation there. Keep an eye out for some big changes over the next few months.

@btorresgil I was also asking myself the same question. Last release was 7 months ago and there are still PanOS features misssing from the providers, which affects our deployment and we need to run additional custom scripts as a workaround.

@btorresgil the words "actively" are stretched as thin as it can get when there's been no activity in over a year. Last I talked with your team, you guys stated your workload was around "data sources"? We can't tell if it's even happening, as there's no changelog. Just releases.

We can see the SCM side has gotten a lot of attention (Literally the last 3 months - Validated by: https://www.hashicorp.com/blog/new-terraform-integrations-with-wiz-cisco-palo-alto-networks-couchbase-vmware).

As it stands, this provider is a serious let down. No wonder Forticrap is gaining serious traction over Palo.

Can we assume the the provider isn't worth working on as it's not easy to retrofit a SOAP backend using XML based configs to Declarative language? Last I chatted with the team back in 2021, I was told you were working on a bunch of Data Sources. I can't validate when they were done, as there's no changelogs to represent what work has been accomplished.

Hi @dafjedavid sorry it's been a minute - we are actively working on the provider v2 as we speak, which involves rewriting the Go SDK to use multi-config and upgrading the v2 provider to Terraform SDKv3. We are hoping to release the beta version for testing towards the middle of May.
