My initial research of the M510 firmwares, showed something interesting that bodes well for our M500 research:

It seems that in response to our research Bafang has scrabled the firmare even more.
No-more can I find standardised values for voltage and amp settings in fixed places, without significant scrabled portions (possible more hardcore signing).

That might be a good sign that we where on the right track with the m500 reverse enginering!
