When an xml is uploaded to CoVE, it would be great if this data is also uploaded to portald simultaneously.

Starting the import earlier would reduce the waiting time when you click the 'd-portal preview' button.

For what proportion of files are we expecting to use the d-portal preview button? I could imagine there being a lot of data uploaded to check schema validation etc., with the d-portal preview only used if it validates. I don't know how much this is likely to hammer your server compared to only explicit click throughs.

Unless you are looking at uploading a million activities everyday, it will be less stress than the current d-portal server.

Hope that puts things into perspective. We'll see how it goes and adjust accordingly; ie. observations of slowed access, etc.
