DRM-only video output not reset after program exit

Describe the bug
Running with a framebuffer-only console (no X or Weston), any programs that do EGL output via the DRM interface either blank the screen, or leave the overlay plane obscuring the console after exit, on a Xavier NX devkit.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Build demo-image-egl image from a JetPack 5-based branch in tegra-demo-distro.
2. Load the image onto the device and run, for example sinteltest, one of the l4t-graphics-samples programs, or nvjpegtest from the video console.
3. The program should run successfully, but the console does not reappear after exit. You can still type commands into the shell there, though.
