I've discovered this as a client request. We have been using your module for a while now with great success in our chat system. But for some reason I can't filter unicodes. More specificly http://emojipedia.org/reversed-hand-with-middle-finger-extended/

It could be due to wrong formatting but I've tried using "\u1F595" and "\u1F595" (this has an escapped '' but github doesn't allow it) as a filter, neither of which work. Is there something I could be missing or a potential bug?

Hey, I'd be okay with researching and making a patch for this bug. But before I step into that I'd appreciate some comments to be sure it's not a human error on my part, and someone else has the same issues.
