Gallery field has two option of showing gallery in modal, Rockbox does not work. if it is enabled when I click on thumb image it opens image in new window.
Also There is only option download whole gallery but I remember there was also option to download each image (original, not edited ) separately, but with different modal option, which also had other features like comments and so on.
I think there is not need to have comment on each image, that's not social network extension, but to download each image separately would be good.

I think we need preview feature in submit form for gallery field, because when we have a lot of images in gallery and we want to remove some of them only thing which we can use to find needed image is title, but wo will start giving each image in gallery specific name. Everyone just uploads with their original names so in current situation to find specific image you need to check its name on your PC and find that name, which will be very time consuming.
Even free gallery modules have thumbnail previews in edit form so I hope we will get it too.

As I mentioned Rockbox modal does not work, and the one which works is very old with terrible design.
You can see example of comparison with gallery from some old Joomla gallery extension first part of video where navigation arrows are on the sides of the screen and images are centers, while on JoomCCk gallery you see that arrows are inside images and their position changes if images are different size and shape. second part of video.
