Describe the bug

When typing in specific fields (e.g. mail or URL), the keyboard gives quick access to useful characters (e.g. @ or /). See below:

Normal keyboard:

Mail keyboard:

However when the keyboard is configured to give quick access to special characters with a long press (as we can see in the above pictures), the specific character that is given direct access in the keyboard is not accessible anymore with a long press, even if it's still displayed. See below:

Long press on normal field:

From what I have been able to see this bug also appears in URL fields (e.g. Firefox URL bar).

To Reproduce
Configure the keyboard with special characters access on long keypress then go on a special field (recipient field from K9 mail when writing a new mail or Firefox URL bar both have the problem)

Expected behavior
The symbol must always be available on long keypress ; it is a pain for muscle memory when it's not working.

It's not a bug.

You have to disable the "Remove redundant popups" setting in Preferences 😉

Don't forget to close this issue if it works properly.

Thanks @BlackyHawky, the option you mentioned indeed makes the key work!

I would still say that the fact that the disabled character is still present on the keyboard when the Remove redundant popups option is misleading and a weird behavior. Not sure if you would count that as a bug though.
