Expected Behavior

Bar chart "bar values" (the number shown for a single bar) should be easily readable even if they have to be shown on top of bars (vs inside).

Current Behavior

"Short" bars have their value shown on top of the bar, presumably since it couldn't fit within the bar itself, resulting in dark grey text on a dark blue background.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Be using dark mode on 6.1.0 (guessing this exists in newer)
  2. Set up a bar chart for the sum of gl2_accounted_message_size
  3. Experiment a bit with resizing the widget, or adjusting the time range, until you get some bars that have their "bar value" shown on top of the bar.
  4. Note that the values shown for "short" bars are on top, and are a dark grey (on a dark blue background).

Context

Not being able to easily see all "bar values" makes the widget a bit more difficult to use.

Your Environment

  • Graylog Version: 6.1.0 (Open and Enterprise)
  • Browser version: Firefox 131.0.3
