[Feature Request] A way to get the Tracker Role from ARVRServer #92
Comments
Owh cool! I didn't even know they added that. I really need to obtain a vive tracker one of these days so I can test with them. It's probably something we need to take along in the enhancements to the API in Godot 4 to properly make the info available on the tracker itself but I'll have a look to see if I can add a few methods to the config object to get access to the role |

I have a few Vive Trackers, and when I go to the SteamVR settings > Controllers > Manage vive trackers, I can set their roles (ex: Waist, Left Foot, Right Foot, etc.). It would be useful if I could get their role from ARVRServer, so I could assign my ARVRController nodes to the correct IDs automatically.
For now I think the only way is to either force the user to turn them on in a specific order, or manually assign them in some sort of menu every time the user starts the game.
