add behaviour phenotype terms for FlyBowl dataset #51
Comments
Actually - looks like we should be using this 'classifications' list for ontologising: http://research.janelia.org/bransonlab/FlyBowl/BehaviorResults/glossary.html#behaviorclassifications |
Also - IIRC, there should be video examples available for many or all of these. Would be great if we could link terms out to reference vids. May need to request these as don't see them on FlyBowl site. |
FYI this paper (FBrf0236042) will also require thin curation - thought it would be easier/most efficient to do everything in one go once new CV terms are in place, which is why I haven't curated it yet (it's a massive screen so would probably need to be curated with some scripting anyway). Also keep in mind that we heard from Alice Robie (via FlyBase helpmail) offering to provide Bloomington stock numbers for the lines assayed around the time the paper was published (we said the paper would be curated in collaboration with VFB and that we may be in touch in future). So it might be possible to coordinate with her/people at Janelia to get a csv file or such to help with curation. |
FYI, will be loading thin curation of this paper on Thursday - processed using Gillian's helpful scripts. |
Behavior list is here:

These are all keys for quantitative recording. Working out what can be expressed using (qualitative) ontology terms will take discussion. Some look straightforward though e.g.:
walking
wing flicking
touching
wing extension
righting
