Pilot upgrade

As previously announced, in a few minutes, the Pilot code will go through the following:

• the current master branch will be copied into oldMaster branch, and locked. No updates will be possible.
• the current devel branch will be copied into master branch, and locked. Updates will only be possible from administrators.
• all fixes will go through devel and moved to master as soon as the tests are successful.

Effectively, given that by default every installation uses the master branch content, this is a rather big Pilot release. It has been extensively tested and it is in production in a few installations already.

A few notes:

• please report any issue that might affect you.
• If this update disrupts your system, use the option pilotRepoBranch = oldMaster (for reference)
• the Pilot will, from now on, first try and install DIRAC from CVMFS (/cvmfs/dirac.egi.eu) and fallback to local installation if this will fail
• the Pilot will, from now on, first try and set the security-related environment variables (X509_CERT_DIR, X509_VOMS_DIR, X509_VOMSES) to CVMFS directories (looking, by default, into /cvmfs/dirac.egi.eu/etc/grid-security/ and /cvmfs/grid.cern.ch/etc/grid-security/)
• if you are not running a DIRAC extension, the default settings will most probably be enough.
• if you are running a DIRAC extension, and such extension can be sourced from a CVMFS location (or from just a local directory) you can either:
  • set the option preInstalledEnv to point to a *rc script (e.g. preInstalledEnv = /cvmfs/lhcb.cern.ch/lhcbdirac/prod/Linux-x86_64/diracosrc)
  • set the option preInstalledPrefix to point to a prefix of the *rc script (e.g. preInstalledEnvPrefix = /cvmfs/lhcb.cern.ch/lhcbdirac/) and in this case the Pilot would look to find a rc file into the directory: <preInstalledEnvPrefix>/<version>/<architecture>/diracosrc
  • [recommended] set the option CVMFS_locations (can be a list) (e.g. CVMFS_locations = /cvmfs/lhcb.cern.ch) and in this case the Pilot would look to find a rc file into the directory <CVMFS_location>/<DIRAC_extension>dirac/<version>/<architecture>/diracosrc. In this case, the pilot will use the CVMFS_locations also for try and finding directories for security-related environment variables.
