Some of this feature is more a CantusIndex problem, but it touches on CDB stuff so it might be worth discussing here.
We would like people to be able to indicate hymn/sequence verses individually, and not just enter the entire text at once (which can be very long, and then it's hard to see variations in ordering of particular sub-sections.) There are already protocols for this, BUT the CantusIDs don't always exist, which means people just enter the full text as one entry and it is a pain to deal with later on. What I would want is:

1. A way of taking hymn/sequence texts in CantusIndex, dividing them at the | symbol (which chops up the verses), and then making a new CantusID for each (of the form HymnID:01, HymnID:02, etc). This would be really helpful for future indexers to follow this protocol if they want to.
2. To allow people to divide up one-entry hymns into multi-verse hymns, it would be super if there were a way in Cantus DB of renumbering chants on a page (so if a ten verse hymn is at sequence 3, move the current sequence 4+ chants to sequence 13+ so new verses can be added.) This would also have a lot of applications for dealing with proofreading pages generally (a chant that somebody forgot before needs to be added in).
   Either of these things would be quite handy.
