Please help me configure an azure function to log to app insights "Information" log messages #3099

I created a brand new azure function, using the latest libraries from NuGet and VS2022. I cannot for the life of me get AppInsights to show Information log events. I can see them streaming in the live console, but they never get logged.

I've fought with this problem for two years. Someone please help me.
