I've noticed a small status issue. When an update is available, the icon changes, but the option to update doesn't appear until I quit and relaunch.

After quitting and relaunching:

Hey there !

That's weird, I'll have a look. When you restart companion, it indeeds does a recheck at startup, but the icon changing should have changed the menu too... hmm !

1.2 is available btw (and yeah I'm working on auto updates it's a bit of a mess right now for companion).

Thanks for all the work! I can't imagine it's easy since Big Sur's permission changes. I'll update and report back if I see this issue happen again.

Please do and thanks yeah, both Catalina and Big Sur have been messy but it's getting there :)

@guidezpl ha, thanks for the report, I'll have another look at the code. In the meantime if you have a second, can you go into
~/Library/Application Support/AerialUpdater/ (I know, confusing...) and look for a log file ? There may be something in here that helps me narrow it down.

There was no log file, only a zip of the latest Aerial. Found a log in ~/Library/Application Support/Aerial
AerialLog.txt

Ha right, you can enable that in About > Debug mode, I think I defaulted it to off for some reason. In any case that shouldn't matter, I'll double check the code and get back to you. Can you confirm which "Update mode" you have in settings though ?

Done. Update mode is "Notify me". I don't think it actually does, I usually notice the icon change
