Given all the dependencies of OIIO, it would be great if " git clone --recursivehttps://github.com/OpenImageIO/oiio.git " would just get all the dependencies (Boost, etc). What do you think? It would really reduce the time/effort of having to grab everything individually, manually.

I've never set up submodules before, but it seems easy, according to this: https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-Tools-Submodules
e.g. git submodule add https://github.com/.....
